Slow Food Santa Fe is delighted to be partnering with the Sprouting Kitchen and Reunity Resources Farm for this very special hands-on class. We’ll start with a tour of Reunity Resources, a beautiful farm in Santa Fe practicing organic and regenerative agriculture. Next, Sprouting Kitchen’s founder and owner Fallon Bader will lead us in cooking a meal entirely focused on just-harvested farm produce. You’ll learn new ways of using seasonal produce and new culinary techniques! Then we’ll sit down to share the food we’ve all created together. As an additional treat the Reunity Resources farm stand will be open where you can buy produce and other local goods!
We’ll lead you through cooking 2-3 recipes all focused on seasonal, local produce. We’ll send out the menu the week of the class (it’s truly seasonal!), but we can guarantee it will be delicious and filling!
Our recipes can usually be made vegan, gluten free, or can accommodate dietary preferences (as long as you let as know ahead of time at checkout).
Reunity Resources Farm is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that runs a two-acre urban farm and soil+compost yard, promoting a closed-loop, localized food system for equitable food access and sustainable land stewardship. This includes immediate hunger solutions such as fresh produce donations, Double Up Food Bucks, and the Santa Fe Community Fridge & Pantry.
This class is for someone who wants a unique cooking experience. You’ll learn about local farms, sustainability, nutrition, and cooking techniques. Our recipes focus on teaching you how to utilize and cook with seasonal produce, but it doesn’t matter if you are a vegetarian, vegan, or carnivore – we all need to eat more plants!
Whether you’re a beginner or more seasoned cook, everyone can learn from our classes. We always have extra staff who can help with additional instruction if needed.
